We are beyond excited to launch our brand new format for holiday camps with our very own Principal and owner, Alicia Afonso heading up the sessions.
Alicia is an ex-professional West End performer who has starred in well-known musicals such as Chicago and We Will Rock You, plus more! With years of experience on stage and a passion for inspiring young performers, this is an amazing opportunity for students to learn from a true industry professional, with creativity and expression at the forefront.
About Alicia Afonso
Alicia is a multi award-winning teacher, having most recently won a prestigious Carl Alan Award in 2025. With four Fellowships in Ballet, Tap, Contemporary Modern Jazz and Theatre Craft and over 24 years of teaching experience.
West End & Theatre Credits:
✔ Chicago the Musical - June - Garrick Theatre, London
✔ Chicago the Musical - Liz - UK & International Tour
✔ We Will Rock You - Dominion Theatre, London
✔ Various Qdos Pantomimes - dance captain and ensemble

As a mum of three, Alicia now runs the Afonso School of Performing Arts and has a passion for promoting safe dance practice and joyful learning in the studio. Most recently she has completed a contract as assistant choreographer and casting assistant for the international production company, Belinda King Creative Productions, where she directed production shows for cruise companies including Seabourn and Princess.
Dedicated to her growing business and students, it is now time to branch out into new areas. Not only providing their renowned Summer School once a year, the Afonso School of Performing Arts will explore new and exciting one-off workshops, holiday camps and more.

What to Expect in The Workshop
Fun, games and friendships - Fun is at the heart of all our holiday camps. Surrounded by like-minded people who love to sing, dance and act.
Learn exciting choreography and vocals - Step into the world of Wicked, sing along to Taylor Swift, dance like a K-Pop star and more.
Rehearse & Perfect Your Performance - Work on performance skills, and storytelling through dance and song.
Showcase for Parents -At the end of each day, parents are invited to watch a short presentation of work!
Crafts & downtime- as well all the fabulous performing arts activities, we do allow time for crafts and relaxation. Plus, a cinema screening on day 4.
